Concerns Regarding Dismissive Attitude Toward Pregnant Patient
My wife recently saw Dr. Trond Helge Orlin during her pregnancy, and we were both very disappointed with how she was treated. She was clearly struggling with physical symptoms like nausea and vomiting, but instead of listening with empathy, the doctor compared her to his own daughter and said that if she could manage pregnancy without issues, then my wife should too.
He dismissed her concerns, refused to consider sick leave or support options, and gave the impression that he did not take her situation seriously at all. We left the appointment feeling unheard and completely unsupported.
Pregnancies are different for every woman, and it's deeply concerning when a GP uses personal anecdotes instead of medical judgment to deny care. We expect more empathy and professionalism from a general practitioner.
